Munich, October 18, 2016. Giesecke & Devrient is now supporting the BMW Group in the further digitization of the vehicle as a "Trusted eSIM Management Partner". BMW vehicles containing the G&D system solution for the Group's "Connected Drive Services" have been in production since July.

SEATTLE, WA (September 20, 2016) – Otono Networks and Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) will team up at the Competitive Carriers Association’s 2016 Annual Convention to announce a partnership to offer advanced eSIM enablement and management services in the global market for device connectivity.

On November 1, 2016, Wolfram Seidemann (49) will succeed Ralf Wintergerst as manager of the Banknote business unit Munich, September 20, 2016. On November 1, 2016, Wolfram Seidemann (49) will take on the management of the Banknote business unit, succeeding Ralf Wintergerst. He also is the designated Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of the newly created G+D Currency Technology group division. The Giesecke & Devrient Management Board agreed unanimously on his appointment. Seidemann is taking on the management of the Banknote business unit from Ralf Wintergerst, who will become the new Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) on November 1, 2016.

Ralf Wintergerst (53) will succeed Dr. Walter Schlebusch (67) on November 1, 2016 Munich, July 21, 2016 – With effect from November 1, 2016, Ralf Wintergerst will be Chairman of the Management Board (CEO) of Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), as unanimously decided by the Supervisory Board in a meeting today. Wintergerst succeeds Dr. Walter Schlebusch, who will leave the company on November 1, 2016 for reasons of age, and moves over to the Advisory Board of G&D. With Ralf Wintergerst as the new CEO the company is focusing on continuity in order to maintain its current successful course.

Munich, April 19, 2016 – Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) announced today the integration of its Convego^® CloudPay solution with Visa Token Service (VTS). G&D’s Convego^® CloudPay solution provides provisioning and life-cycle management services for payment applications on HCE (Host Card Emulation) enabled mobile devices. The relationship with Visa allows G&D to request and provide payment tokens from VTS to Visa issuers’ HCE mobile wallets.

Munich, April 12, 2016 – Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) was back on the road to success in fiscal 2015, surpassing the two-billion euro sales mark for the first time in the company’s history. Overall, the G&D Group achieved strong growth of 9.7 percent last year, far exceeding its own expectations. All three business units – Banknote, Mobile Security, and Government Solutions – contributed to this growth. Not including the 2014 provision for restructuring costs, the EBIT operating result increased by around 40 million euros to almost 102 million euros. G&D has overcome the decline in earnings it experienced in previous years.

Munich, March 3, 2016 – Giesecke & Devrient and Telefónica present a joint technology solution, integrating the functionalities of the LPA (Local Profile Assistant) into the secure environment of the SIM card. The solution is based on the existing Smart Card Web Server (SCWS) specification issued by the SIMAlliance.
